FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DIFFICULTIES
Les Amis - For adults, young people, and children from 5 years old
- Maison Allo in St Saviour provides respite care for children and young adults aged 14 to 21 years old who have a mild to moderate learning disability.
- Mourant Lodge in Trinity caters for those aged 18 years and over but is also equipped for Islanders with complex needs.
Respite Care - the main aim of the respite service is provide support to families and parents of children with special needs. This is achieved by providing regular programmed care for children at Oakwell and Aviemore allowing a break for parents and others who care for dependent special needs children, twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. Whilst attending the respite homes the children benefit from structured play activity, physiotherapy and associated care techniques.
