BBC Radio Jersey's Local Advisory Council

5.  Every BBC local radio station has its own Local Advisory Council.
BBC Radio Jersey's Council is made up of members of the public who are appointed because of their personal interest in broadcasting. The Chair is also a member of the BBC South West Regional Advisory Council.

As members of this BBC body, their role is:

  • to meet six times a year to discuss the BBC's local radio and TV output, and to learn about the BBC and its policies.
  • to advise on broadcasting matters of a local and regional nature relevant to the editorial area of BBC Radio Jersey.
  • to offer advice and feedback about BBC Radio Jersey's programmes, standards and services.
  • to seek out and represent the views of BBC Radio Jersey listeners.
  • to report to the BBC South West Regional Advisory Council on issues concerning BBC Radio Jersey, and the public's views on BBC local radio programmes.
