Words you may need to know
Cross-departmental - covers more than one department
Vacancies - a job that is available, it is unfilled
Advertisements - a public announcement such as an advert
Charitable trust - money put aside for a specific purpose or reason
Jobseeker - someone looking for a job
Sensory impairment - problems with sight, hearing, touch, taste and feelings
Physical impairment - a problem relating to the body
Mental health problems - a problem relating to the mind
Neurological impairment - the working of the nervous system is faulty. Nerves carry information to various parts of the body which allow them to work.
Social Security Contribution – anyone who works in Jersey needs to pay Social Security contributions from their wages unless they are exempt.
The Work Zone is based at Customer and Local Services. The team provide advice on job seeking as well as what to do if you do not have a job and are on Income Support benefit.

Job vacancies are brought up to date every day at the Work Zone at Customer and Local Services. They have a website where you can look at vacant jobs online.
