A hereditary disorder of the central nervous system, caused by a faulty gene, which leads to gradual physical, mental and emotional changes.

Jersey Branch of the Huntington's Disease Association

Aims to support people affected by the illness and to provide an informal setting for sufferers, carers, families, friends and health professionals.

Meetings held on the first Thursday each month at St Helier Methodist Centre, Halkett Place, St Helier.

Neurocare Service

Based at Overdale Hospital, telephone 443077.

Run by occupational therapist, Sandra Hubert and staff nurse, Suki Douglas.

Provides all the needs of patients and their carers in practical ways and by giving advice, support and education. They co-ordinate the work of the consultant, therapists and other agencies.
